Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 9, 2026

This policy explains what data Rezumely collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who we are

Rezumely (“Rezumely”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) provides an AI-assisted resume tailoring service. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to your use of the Rezumely website and application (the “Service”).

For the purposes of applicable data-protection law, Rezumely acts as the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us about any privacy matter at support@rezumely.com.

2. Information we collect

  • Account information: when you sign up, we store your email address, display name, and authentication details through our authentication provider (Supabase). If you sign in with Google, we receive your email and basic profile information.
  • Resume content: the resumes you upload and the structured profile we extract from them, so you can reuse and edit them.
  • Job descriptions: the text you paste in to tailor a resume.
  • Usage and device data: counts of tailored resumes generated, plan and billing status, and limited technical signals (such as a device/browser identifier and approximate country from your IP address) used to enforce fair-use limits, apply regional pricing, and prevent abuse.
  • Payment information: if you purchase a plan, payments are processed by Stripe. We receive limited details such as your billing country and a payment reference; we never see or store your full card number.
  • Communications: if you contact us (for example, by email), we keep those messages to respond and for our records.

3. How we use your information

  • To provide the core service: extracting your resume, tailoring it to job descriptions, and generating downloadable files.
  • To operate your account, enforce free-tier and fair-use limits, apply regional pricing, and process payments.
  • To maintain security, detect and prevent fraud and abuse, and improve the reliability and quality of the Service.
  • To communicate with you about your account, transactions, and important service or policy changes.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

4. Legal bases for processing

Where the EU/UK GDPR or similar laws apply, we process your personal data on the following bases: to perform our contract with you (providing the Service and your account); our legitimate interests (securing the Service, preventing abuse, and improving the product); your consent (where we ask for it); and compliance with legal obligations.

5. AI processing

To extract and tailor your resume, the relevant text is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic’s Claude) for processing. This is necessary to deliver the Service.

We do not use your resume content to train our own models, and we do not sell your content. Our AI provider processes the content to return a result to us and under its own commitments not to train its models on API content.

6. Sharing and third parties

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers (processors) required to run the Service, each under agreements that require them to protect your data:

  • Anthropic — AI processing of resume and job-description text;
  • Supabase — authentication, database, and storage;
  • Stripe — payment processing;
  • Vercel — application hosting and delivery.

7. We never share your resume with employers

We do not send your resume to employers or recruiters. Any application you make with a file you export is entirely your own action, outside the Service.

8. International transfers

Our providers may process and store data in countries other than the one you live in, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for these transfers.

9. Data storage and security

Your data is stored with our infrastructure providers and transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).

We apply access controls and database row-level security so that you can only access your own resumes and profiles. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you and any regulator as required by law in the event of a data breach affecting your personal data.

10. Data retention

We retain your resumes, profiles, and account data for as long as your account is active so the Service remains useful to you. When you delete a profile or your account, the associated data is removed from our active systems, subject to limited retention where necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our Terms.

11. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights over your personal data. You can exercise most of these directly in the app, or by contacting us at support@rezumely.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.

  • Access — view your extracted profile and account information at any time from the dashboard;
  • Correction — edit your profile and account details;
  • Deletion — delete individual resume profiles, or request deletion of your account and associated data;
  • Portability — export your tailored resumes as PDF or Word files;
  • Objection / restriction — object to or ask us to restrict certain processing based on our legitimate interests;
  • Withdraw consent — where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

12. Cookies and local storage

We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and to remember interface preferences (such as your light/dark theme choice and whether the sidebar is collapsed). We do not use advertising trackers or sell data to advertisers.

13. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new “last updated” date and, where appropriate, additional notice.
